Ruben Carrasco Mexican talent; contemporary muralist artist with great international impact. He begins his artistic journey at the age of 19 in a self-taught way; later he complements his academic training at the Anáhuac, McGill and Dawson College universities.
Carrasco has more than 200 murals around the world; Mexico, France, Canada, the United States, South Africa, England, China, Italy, Germany, Spain, Belize, Cuba and Israel, to name a few.
At the same time, he has participated in individual and collective exhibitions, mural festivals, biennials and live painting presentations, thereby obtaining the support and international recognition of cultural organizations, embassies, governments, the press and the artistic community.
Based in Montreal, he currently develops and promotes urban art projects with the support of the city council. At the same time, he works hand in hand with the Paris City Council in the creation of murals within the 12th arrondissement, the Museum of Hunting and Nature, a large mural in the traditional Marais Paris area and the iconic mural in Oberkampf.
At the same time he has been invited to work on commercial and corporate projects with well-known brands such as Grupo Derichebourg Environnement, Brussels, Belgium.
Currently he explores new trends, techniques and technologies to complement and evolve his artistic proposal; he recently launched his first NFT collection in Paris, as part of the “AstroCyber” exhibition, organized by the Goldshteyn Saatort gallery.
2022 ends with the production of big murals for Xcaret group, Vive Latino Festival and the special invitation to give urban art workshops with Louvre Museum.
His theme is focused on the complex relationship that exists between humanity and nature; Under this premise he creates images with futuristic scenes that allude to that fragile coexistence. Animals and characters wearing sophisticated suits and protective masks prevail in his iconography. His atavism incorporates a pastiche of ethnic ornament contrasted with technological elements that together suggest a hybrid cosmogony.
